The inflation of pork prices has arrived early this year, shooting up in recent weeks in comparison to a season of low pork consumption after the Chinese New Year. The cost of live pigs waddled to a historical high in March with prices increased to nearly 20 yuan per kilogram on March 22, which is its highest level since 2011, and up more than 60% from the same period last year.
