108 bell tolls to usher in new year

Residents in central China’s Henan Province braved the cold on the New Year’s Eve to listen to the first gong of a giant bell at the Confucius Temple.

As a tradition, the temple bell tolled 108 times to dispel the evils of the past year and usher in good luck for the New Year.
