12 PKK members killed in Turkish security operations

12 members of the Kurdish Workers’ Party, or PKK, were killed on Sunday in an assault by Turkish troops in Turkey’s southeastern town of Cizre. The town is among the areas that have been under curfew for weeks. Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has vowed to continue operations against the PKK. The PKK rebelled against the state in 1984.
