2-thousand join cycling for history memory and healthy lifestyle

The main streets in central Russian city Nizhniy Novgorod were a scene of cyclists on Sunday as more than two thousand people took part in the 11th open cycling “Road Minin”. The event is dedicated to Kozma Minin,a Russian national hero known for his role in defending the country against the Polish invasion in the early-17th century.

This year marks the 400th anniversary of the death of Kozma Minin. Organizers said the number of participants this year has increased twenty-fold compared to that of 2006, when the event was first held.
