2019 was Singapore’s joint hottest year, with annual mean temperature of 28.4°C

2019 now shares the title of hottest year recorded in Singapore. According to data by the Meteorological Service, it matches the previous high set in 2016, with an average temperature of 28.4°C. Average monthly temperatures in 2019 consistently surpassed the 30-year average, as the hottest August and September were recorded. Meanwhile, the yearly average rainfall was 37% below the historical yearly average. A dry spell from July to September also saw Singapore fall into a rainfall deficit.
