3 Arrested for Delhi Lawyer’s Murder

The Delhi Police made a breakthrough in the murder of the 57-year-old lawyer who was allegedly shot dead by an unidentified duo at a crowded street in southeast Delhi’s Jamia Nagar area on Monday (May 16). Managing Director of a Delhi hotel is now being questioned. Three men who were allegedly hired to carry out the murder have been detained. Raids are on to nab the others. The incident took place around 7.45 PM last night when MM Khan, an assistant legal advisor with the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), was heading back home in his car which was intercepted by a motorbike at a busy street in Jamia Nagar. The assailants on the bike were wearing helmets and shot at Khan from a close range. Khan sustained a bullet injury in his chest and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died. Khan’s relatives told police that he had been receiving calls from unknown people during odd hours of the day. Police have recovered his mobile phone and the call data will be analysed, the official said.
