3,000-year-old temple blown up by ISIL

Islamic State released a video showing the destruction of a 3,000-year-old temple in Iraq. The United Nations confirmed in a statement on Wednesday evening that satellite imagery showed “extensive damage to the main entrance” of the temple of Nabu, located in the Assyrian city of Nimrud. The temple is considered to be dedicated to the god of wisdom, science and the arts. It also houses a number of idolatry statues.
