Soldiers of the People’s Liberation Army and the armed police force are battling against heavy rains and floods in central China’s Hubei Province.
The non-stop downpour since the end of June caused piping in Daokou Lake, Wuhan City along the Yangtze River. Disaster-relief staff have been trying to put the situation under control.
In Laoguan Lake in Hanchuan City, water has overflowed the banks, endangering over 20,000 residents and farmland. Armed police officers are piling up sandbags to reinforce the dyke.
