3D printing technology keeps old Israeli warplanes in the air

To prolong the lifespan of aging aircrafts, the Israeli military is using the technology of 3D printing to affordably create obsolete plane parts that are no longer in production. Engineers use a 3D camera to scan the parts they need, before it is sent to the printer. When repaired, the aircraft can still be of valuable use to the military.
