6.1 magnitude quake hits off Papua New Guinea coast

The U.S. Geological Survey said an earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale jolted 120 kilometers northeast of Angoram, Papua New Guinea on Friday.

The epicenter, with a depth of 14.75 km, was initially determined to be at 3.433 degrees south latitude and 144.9489 degrees east longitude.
