6.5 magnitude quake hits China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region

A 6.5 magnitude earthquake hit Hotan Prefecture in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Friday morning.

The quake rocked Pishan County at 9:07 a.m. on Friday, and struck at a depth of 10 km.

Four people have been confirmed dead and 48 others are injured in the epicenter County.
