After about 15 days at a hospital in Jerusalem, Nahed Muteir, 24, succumbed to his critical neck injury. He was the 14th Palestinian from Qalandia Refugee Camp killed by Israeli forces, since the break out of the current wave of tensions since last October.
Qalandia refugee camp is located approximately 10 km north of Jerusalem, near the Palestinian city of Ramallah in the West Bank. It is home to nearly 14,000 residents. It is also located at an inconvenient proximity to one of the major Israeli military checkpoints in the West Bank, and has become a hotspot for protests that often spark clashes.
