Sixty people were injured in a ferry boat explosion in Bangkok on Friday morning.
Witnesses said the accident occurred as the boat was docking. A loud bang was heard, prompting freaked out passengers to race to the pier. Some of them jumped into the waters to avoid injury.
An initial investigation showed the combustion might have been caused by fuel leakage. A total of 70 passengers were onboard the crowded boat, which costs $1 to ride, one of the cheapest and fastest ways of transport in Bangkok.
Official figures show that around 100,000 passengers ride the boats every day.
