8 tourists die after flash floods strike Guangdong Province

Eight tourists have died after flash floods hit Jinmen city in south China’s Guangdong Province. The accident occurred when tourists were rafting in a river, when a heavy rainstorm hit. The Jiangmen municipal government is offering counseling to relatives of the victims and has launched an investigation into why the tourists were allowed to go rafting, despite weather warnings.
