A foreign martyr in the Long March: Bi Shiti

Chairman Mao Zedong once said, “The five-starred red flag is stained with the blood of Korean martyrs.” During the Long March, a strategic military manoeuvre carried out by the Red Army between 1934 and 1936 to combat the Kuomintang regime, a number of Korean soldiers lost their lives fighting for the liberation of Chinese people. Bi Shiti was one of them.
