AAP Minister Satyander Jain Visits Demolition Site In Delhi

Delhi Home Minister Satyendra Kumar Jain on Monday (December 14) visited Shakur Basti demolition site in Delhi and said that the Centre should take responsibility for this incident and should put in complete efforts to relocate the victims of the demolition. “We have done as much as we could. We have erected a tent for people to stay; provided food, blankets and toilets for the slum dwellers. Now, the Centre should do their job,” Jain said. Speaking to TIMES NOW, Jain alleged that the railways has not sent any notice to evacuate the area and there are no immediate project coming up in Shakur Basti as claimed by the railways. “Due to the negligence of the railways and police a young girl lost her life. The sad part is that people who have been living here since the last 15-20 years, and they been uprooted in a very inhumanly manner,” Jain further added. According Jain, AAP had no idea of the demolition and they arrived at the site as soon as the demolition began.
