Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe sent a ritual offering to the Yasukuni Shrine in central Tokyo on Saturday morning as it kicks off a four-day annual autumn festival. Japan’s Kyodo News Agency said Abe refrained from visiting the war-linked shrine, but instead dedicated a “masakaki” tree, which is traditionally used in rituals to the shrine, under the title of prime minister.
