Advisor of HSBC Asia Pacific: Hong Kong will not follow U.S. decision to raise interest rates

Since the October meeting, a number of Fed officials have spelt out that a rate hike in December was on the table.

Under the linked exchange rate system, Hong Kong’s interest rates have largely followed by U.S.

But George Leung, an advisor of HSBC Asia Pacific, said Hong Kong will not follow U.S. decision for the moment because the city have sufficient capital.
