Aerial footage shows massive crowds of people walking on the Badaling section of the Great Wall in Beijing on just one day of the week-long national holiday. The Badaling section was built in 1505 during the Ming Dynasty and is one of the most popular sections of the world heritage site.
About half of China’s population of 1.3 billion are thought to have traveled during the country’s National Day holiday from October 1st to 7th, according to China Tourism Academy (CTA). Chinese tourists have endured long delays, massive crowds and shoulder-to-shoulder crushes during the week-long holiday.
