Africa no “poor” continent, journalists urge change of stereotyped image

Africa’s stereotyped image of a “poor” continent should change.

The call was made by participants at the first ever Media Forum on the African Continent held in Marrakech in Morocco.

The attendees say, with its growth among the highest in the world and the rise of security concerns brought by Islamic Jihadists, Africa has come to the world’s center after being marginalized for decades.

They accuse the Western medias of “presenting Africa as a continent underdeveloped” and a training theater for terrorist groups.
