Aid distributed as forces vie to retake Mosul

Residents of the Iraqi city of Mosul have crowded around trucks delivering humanitarian aid to the besieged city. The Iraqi military launched the large-scale campaign on October 17 to retake ISIL’s last major stronghold in the country. Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi says ISIL fighters no longer have the “gut” to put up long-term resistance in the city.
