AIIB funding should not depend on political conditions: Egyptian expert
SOUNDBITE(ARABIC): MOHAMMED AL-NAGGAR, Egyptian economic expert
“The management policy of the AIIB should be different from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. Decisions of the new bank regarding funding should not depend on political conditions. Of course politics has an important role with regard to financing decisions, but it should not be the primary factor. The AIIB should focus on various new projects, different from those funded by the World Bank or the International Monetary Fund, such as projects to reduce unemployment. The AIIB should also encourage the transition of funds and investments between member states because this will limit the slowdown in economic growth as well as to limit the rise in unemployment and inflation rates.”
