JK Sinha, a retired IPS officer, has been tirelessly working towards providing an education to one of the most downtrodden communities of our country the Musahars of Bihar. He started a free English-medium residential school in 2009, with the objective of providing quality education to the poorest of the poor. The Musahars (rat-eaters) are landless labourers who have been living in grinding poverty for centuries. Many among them are like bonded labourers living in ghettoes on the outskirts of villages. Determined to do something about their situation, JK Sinha started this school that imparts quality education to the children of the Musahar community. The students are provided boarding, clothes, books, healthcare and other necessities all of it free of cost. By enabling hundreds of these boys to make a quantum jump in life, JK Sinha is a true catalyst of change.
