Analysts: Turkey bombing attack may aim to upcoming snap poll

Mehmet Seyfettin Erol, professor at Ankara-based Gazi University, told China’s Xinhua that the effect of the bombing attack comes from the surge of violence and terrorism in Syria and Iraq, both neighbors to Turkey.

But the timing and motivation of the attacks are also in the minds of analysts who point out that Turkey is heading to repeat its elections on Nov. 1.

Ankara-based political analyst Idris Gursoy told Xinhua that there may be some groups that want to influence voters’ behavior when there are only three weeks left to the snap poll.
