The Beijing Intellectual Property Office has banned the sale of Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus, saying the designs had infringed a patent held by a Chinese company. It said the Apple devices are too similar to a smartphone made by Baili company from Shenzhen. The decision only covers Beijing, but will potentially influence the outcomes of litigation elsewhere in China. However, Apple announced that the two iPhones were still available for sale.
