Arvind Kejriwal escalates Centre vs State fight

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi met on Tuesday (August 25) at the Prime Minister’s Office.Kejriwal was accompanied by Delhi’s deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia. The much-awaited interaction revolved around the ongoing crisis between the state and the Centre, coming in the light of Kejriwal’s accusation that Delhi Police and lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung have been harassing the Delhi government at the behest of BJP. After the meeting, the Delhi chief minister said he told PM, “we may have ideological and political differences but for Delhi’s growth, state and Centre need to work together.” Speaking to reporters, Kejriwal said, “Told PM you help us, we will make Delhi sparkle straight away and you will get the credit.” He added, “Politics between parties should not affect Delhi’s progress.””Our orders and decisions are instantly declared null and void by the central government,” Arvind Kejriwal said. Kejriwal also said he told the PM that the Delhi government would fulfill Swachh Bharat and Digital India in Delhi, but for that better communication with Centre was needed.
