Arvind Kejriwal makes visit to hospitals

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today conducted surprise checks at several hospitals following the suicide of a couple after their seven-year-old son died of dengue. “Hospitals which refuse treatment will not be spared,” Kejriwal said. He also said that government was exploring the idea of taking over private hospitals for a temporary period during an exigency. As per hospital records, the dengue death toll in the city has risen to ten. However, the death toll as per the municipal corporation’s official data still stands at 5. As per the corporation’s data released yesterday, 613 cases of dengue have been reported in the last one week and a total 1,872 patients have tested positive for the vector borne disease till September 12.
