ASEAN Summit: Japan to provide two more patrol ships to Philippines

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit. The Japanese leader has agreed to provide two more large patrol ships and lend up to five used surveillance aircraft to the Philippines. The ships will be built in Japan at a cost of around 162 million US dollars. The two ships will be the 11th and 12th ships given to the Philippines by Japan.
