Asian countries suffer from natural calamities

Several countries across Asia have seen extreme weather conditions and natural disasters in the past few days. In southern Asia, Sri Lanka has been lashed by strong winds and heavy rainstorms, which have triggered flooding and landslides, and have killed at least 71 people. In India, a heatwave, with temperatures spiking as high as 51 degrees Celsius, has claimed more than 100 lives, and caused forest fires. In Indonesia, a volcano erupted on Sunday, killing three people and seriously injuring four others.
