In his leisure time, 32-year-old Mexican weightlifter Manuel Ojeda, better known as “Manolo,” may forget that he was born with Down Syndrome, and enjoy the easy part of life within the gymnasium installed at his home.
Thanks to the support of his family and his own persistence, Manolo just won two gold and two silver medals at the Special World Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The achievements has made Manolo’s Mother cry, as she shared his happiness and once again encouraged him to stay stronger.
Manolo is now the pride of the community and even his country.
Prior to his Olympic victories, his participation in the Central American Games and other local or national championships also won him major awards and medals.
