At least 83 people have been killed, and over a hundred wounded in two separate explosions in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad. The bombings happened near the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The first attack occurred in a shopping area in the Karrada district, where a car exploded, killing at least 75. Shortly afterwards, an improvised explosive device went off in eastern Baghdad, killing at least five people. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack in the Karrada district, but there has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the second bombing.
