Barack Obama’s Chinese impersonator makes his name

A former security guard in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou is making a name for himself for his uncanny resemblance to U.S. President Barack Obama.

29-year-old Xiao Jiguo came from humble background and did various jobs, including working as a waiter, before becoming an entertainer.

He first gained fame in 2012, after a friend uploaded a video of him singing to a social media site. But it was not his voice that struck the audience online. Instead, many people who watched commented that Xiao looked like the American leader.

Now Xiao is heading to a movie career, playing a low-level gangster who looks like Barack Obama in a comedy film to be released next year.

Xiao also featured in an ad campaign for a cosmetic plastic surgery clinic in Hong Kong. Though reports say he underwent a minor plastic surgery in the clinic to make his appearances more Obama-like, Xiao insists his looks are only natural.

Besides being a dead ringer to Obama , Xiao says he also shares the same blood type with the U.S. president, and that their birthdays are only one day apart.
