A delegation of the Beijing Olympic bidding committee arrived in Malaysia on Saturday, as final preparations are made ahead of the vote to determine who will host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
The Beijing delegation arrived in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur on Saturday afternoon, to await the final vote for the host city of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
The results will be unveiled on July 31st.
The 128th session of the International Olympic Committee will be held from July 31 to August 3, with the host city for the 24th Winter Olympic Games in 2022 to be announced on the first day.
According to Wang Anshun, Beijing’s Mayor and President of the Beijing 2022 Bid Committee, the delegation will show the desire and pursuit of the Chinese people for Olympic Games, as well as Beijing’s ability and confidence to host the 2022 Winter Olympics.
2008 Summer Olympics host Beijing will be competing against Almaty, capital of Kazakhstan in the race.
On the election day, Almaty and Beijing will give their respective final presentation to the IOC members.
Following the presentations and a report given by the Evaluation Commission Chair, IOC members will vote to select the host city. The results will be announced by the IOC President Thomas Bach.
