Belt and Road Initiative strengthens regional integration

Proposed by China in 2013, the Belt and Road Initiative is intended to build an open and smooth channel of trade, capital and cooperation across the Eurasian continent.

Experts believed that the initiative will provide great opportunities for countries along the routes integrating into the global economy.

According to China’s Ministry of Commerce, trade between China and “Belt and Road” countries totaled 995 billion U.S. dollars last year, about a quarter of the national trade volume.
