BJP Begging For Apology ; Won’t Oblige Says Arvind Kejriwal | DDCA Scam

Launching yet another twitter tirade, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday (December 28) said that he would not “oblige” the BJP by apologising to them over AAP’s allegations of Union Minister Arun Jaitley’s involvement in the DDCA corruption case. “BJP almost begging me for an apology. Sorry. I won’t oblige them. Let Jaitley ji be cross-examined in defamation cases. Let truth prevail,” he tweeted. Finance Minister Arun Jailtley has filed a criminal and a civil defamation case against Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders over the DDCA row. The BJP had yesterday lashed out at the AAP and had demanded a public apology from the party, after the report of a three-member inquiry set up to probe graft in the DDCA did not substantiate the allegations Kejriwal had leveled against Jaitley. Clarifying on the Delhi probe report, Kejriwal tweeted, No clean chit ever given by any Del govt probe. That report confirmed several instances of wrongdoings but did not fix responsibility”. Adding that the particular report did not mention anyone’s name, Kejriwal said that the probe report had recommended the Enquiry Commission to fix the responsibility in the DDCA case. Kejriwal had alleged corruption and embezzlement by Jaitley during his tenure as chief of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), especially in the renovation of the Ferozshah Kotla cricket stadium. The allegations had come after the CBI had conducted raids on Kejriwal’s principal secretary, Rajendra Kumar.
