“It is a solution that we give to the Olympics after a long time in impasse. And we have this as a gift to our city.”

Brazil spent some 19 million U.S. dollar to renovate and enlarge the 3-decade-old facility, with modern equipment added in accordance with international standards.

“Of course we have a Marina for the Olympics, but more than that, the city is inspired by the Olympics to solve a very old problem and provide something new.”

After the games, Marina da Gloria will link up with the Flamengo Park and the Santos Dumont Airport along the coastline as leisure spots for the locals and tourists.
