Breastfeeding is legally protected in the Philippines

The photo of a woman breastfeeding on a Beijing subway continues to stir controversy in China. In the Philippines, there is a strong push for breastfeeding but doing it in public remains a divisive issue. Philippine laws are one of the most supportive of breastfeeding in the world. Shopping malls and other establishments are mandated to have breastfeeding stations. Or, mothers can simply breastfeed anytime, anywhere. But that’s not to say there’s no discrimination.
