A memorial service has been held to remember British Member of Parliament Jo Cox, three days after the 41-year-old Labour Party lawmaker was murdered in the northern English town of Birstall. Parishioners at St Peter’s Church prayed for her widower Brendan and two young children, Lejla and Cuillin. Speaking at the service, Reverend Paul Knight described Cox as a “fervent advocate for the poor and the oppressed.” Meanwhile, Parliament has also been recalled for a special session on Monday to honor her memory.
