The Buddhas of Bamyan in Afghanistan were once a popular destination for tourists. But in 2001, Taliban members destroyed the statues, prompting global outcry. Militants even forced the locals to take part in the destruction, causing painful and unforgettable memories for many. CCTV’s Nathan Rodgers has more on the story.
