Bull not killed in Spain’s “Toro de la Pena” festival

Toro de la Pena, a centuries-old Spanish festival, was celebrated Tuesday in the town of Tordesillas, about 200 km northwest of Madrid. This year’s event marked the first time that the bull was spared from being speared to death in an open field. But opinions remain divided. Local residents are in defense of the bull-lancing tradition and they scuffled with animal rights activists.
