Bus drivers save woman from jumping off bridge in E China

A woman attempting suicide on a bridge was rescued by two bus drivers in east China’s city of Nanjing.

The distressed woman was climbing over a guardrail on the bridge above the Yangtze River, when she was spotted by Ding Xuejun, a driver of Bus No. 572.

“I came over and talked with her, though I knew that she didn’t listen to me. I was just trying to distract her attention so that someone else could help rescue her
from behind.”

Luckily, another bus driver also took notice of the woman, and stopped his vehicle to help.

“I saw that bus driver wink at me, and then I got it. When she wasn’t paying attention, I suddenly dragged the woman down from behind.”

Ding also came to help. They rescued the woman within about a minute. She was then taken away by police officers who arrived shortly.
