Jasleen Kaur, the Delhi brave heart who named and shamed a 22-year-old pervert on social media, today expressed her contentment over the accused’s arrest. ‘I am really glad, and I want to appreciate the efforts of the media and the Delhi police to arrest him within 24 hours of the incident,” she said. She, however, criticised the bystanders’ passive reaction during the whole incident and urged that people should take some action if such a situation arises in future.

“I would request them (bystanders) that if this thing happens again in front of them they shouldn’t act cowardly like the way they did yesterday. They should actually support the girl, because it would definitely give her a lot of courage,” she said. Dipender Pathak, Joint Commissioner Police, Delhi also lauded Kaur’s efforts for standing up against the pervert. “We welcome her complain. Such acts must be brought to the notice of police immediately so that the police can take action,” he said.
