The huge wildfire that has swept across the Canadian province of Alberta, forcing a mass evacuation from the city of Fort McMurray, appears to be slowing in its advance. An Alberta Province official said the fires that have been raging for days were moving “much, much more slowly,” thanks to rainfall and cooler temperatures. More than 500 firefighters, alongside 15 helicopters and 14 air tankers, have been battling the enormous blaze. Officials have warned it could take months to fully extinguish the flames.
