Car bomb attacks kill at least 13 near Somalia UN peacekeepers base

The death toll from twin blasts in Somalia has risen to at least 13 after two car bombs went off in the vicinity of Mogadishu International Airport early on Tuesday. The first blast took place near the entrance of an African Union base near the city’s main airport. The second happened at a checkpoint manned by government forces. Police say two suicide bombers were behind the attacks. Militant group Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the incidents.
