Briefing the media on the Punjab terror attack, Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday (July 27) said that Home Minister Rajnath Singh would make a statement in the House on the terror incident after the encounter is over. “Government of India is in touch with the Punjab government and is extending all the support that is required. The Home minister has spoken to the Chief Minister of Punjab and once the encounter is over the government is willing to make a statement in the House and also to discuss the matter,” he stated. “In such matters there should not be any politics and we should all speak with one voice, this is my appeal to the opposition parties, he added. Naidu criticised the continuous slogan-shouting by Congress and some other opposition parties, saying they were not allowing members to speak on the attack which is a “serious issue”.
