Chimpanzee escapes from the Japan zoo

A 24-year old male chimpanzee escaped from the Yagiyama Zoological Park in Japan on April 14. His freedom, however, was short-lived. He first ran on the streets of a nearby residential area and then climbed on a telephone pole and hung among the electricity lines in order to avoid capture. But the escape ended with a dart from a tranquilizer gun, making him fall down. The zoo workers then caught him with a blanket. He has been captured and it’s unclear how the animal got away from the zoo. An investigation is underway.
