China and Japan agree to hold high-level meetings on maritime affairs

China and Japan have agreed to speed up the negotiation process on the air and maritime contact mechanism between the two countries. The agreement was reached in the fifth round of high-level consultations on maritime affairs in Hiroshima. The two sides agreed to devote efforts in safeguarding the peace and stability in the East China Sea, and continue to cooperate in the crackdown of transnational crimes.
