Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his Japanese counterpart Taro Kono in Tokyo on Monday. Wang is the first Chinese foreign minister to visit Japan in a bilateral context in nine years. Economic issues are their focus, and the two ministers exchanged views on the Korean Peninsula situation ahead of a summit between the two Koreas this month and a meeting between DPRK leader Kim Jong Un and US President Donald Trump.
