China confirms prisoner amnesty to mark the WWII anniversary

A special amnesty will be granted to certain prisoners to mark the 70th anniversary of the World War Two victory. Thousands of war veterans will be granted official pardons, on the day of the parade, September 3rd. President Xi Jinping signed the amnesty deal on Saturday, after lawmakers reviewed it and voted in favor. This is the first amnesty in the past 40 decades.
