China FM says sanctions alone will not solve DPRK nuke problem

China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that sanctions alone won’t solve the DPRK nuclear issue and that unilateral action will only lead to a dead end. A spokesperson for the ministry also said that the crux of the issue lies with the United States. The remarks came in response to US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter claiming that China bears “great responsibility” for the DPRK’s nuclear test.
